Concert Etiquette

December 5, 2016

WHAT TO WEAR:

What choir members really care about is what they have to wear at concerts!  BCS tends to opt for all black attire for the ladies in the form of either trousers or long skirts and long sleeved or three quarter length sleeved blouses/tops and the gentlemen in formal evening dress with white shirt and black bow tie.  Colourful ties are for specific concerts only.

PLATFORM ETIQUETTE:

  • Line ups ad advised ready to take places on stage.
  • No drinks, handbags etc on stage.  A secure place will be provided for coats and bags etc.
  • Music in choir or black covers if advised
  • Look at the Conductor!
  • PLEASE DO NOT turn pages of music over whilst soloists are performing.  Sit still with music ready for next entry by choir.
  • Use post-it notes to mark scores with choir entries, and paperclip the long soloist sections together.
  • Watch for 'SIT' and 'STAND' instructions from conductor.
AFTER THE CONCERT:
All able bodied members please take chairs off staging and place where advised and assist with dismantling staging and rearranging venue as required.
