The choir was founded in 1942 and is proud to be celebrating its 75th Anniversary in 2017. Over that time, the choir has staged numerous concerts and helped to bring pleasure to people particularly through the dark days of World War II.
At present, the choir has over 70 members with numbers increasing monthly. We are an open, supportive and friendly choir that welcomes enthusiastic singers of all ages. We believe singing is a shared experience that should be fun, engaging and rewarding. What are you waiting for?…Come and join us!
We hope you enjoy browsing through the website and if you require any further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch by going to the ‘Contact Us’ page. If you wish to receive regular information about the choir and dates of our concerts, please sign up to our Mailing List. We look forward to welcoming you to our concerts.
We warmly welcome students (aged 16 to 25 years in full time education) who will automatically receive free membership to the choir. In addition, if they wish, they can audition for the Banbury Choral Society (BCS) Youth Outreach Scheme. As a choir we feel it is important to support young people in their love of singing by helping them to improve their vocal technique and to experience singing with a large choir. Through the guidance and tutelage of our highly experienced conductor, Julian Harris, they will learn a broad repertoire of music that will increase their knowledge of choral music and widen their vocal range. Please contact us if you would like further information.
