Choir Information
Here you can find lots of useful information about joining the choir, where we rehearse, concert etiquette and much more. Do feel free to contact us if you have any questions or would like to join the choir. For more background information about Banbury Choral visit the About Us page.
+ Joining INstructions
BCS warmly welcomes new members of all voice parts. We do not hold auditions to join the choir, but we do ask that you can sing in tune and have some knowledge of reading music. You may not have sung in a choir since leaving school or college, but we are a friendly bunch and will do everything we can to make you feel at ease.
Just come along to rehearsals on Monday evenings at the Marlborough Road Methodist Church. Let us know that you are coming by emailing us via the website so that we know to expect you. Rehearsals start at 7.30pm. We hire out music to members so there is no need to purchase your own copy.
SUBSCRIPTION FEES
- Subscriptions for the 2024/25 year will be payable either in a single sum of £144 due September 2024 or
- by monthly standing order of £12 per month
- or £48 termly
- or £72 half-yearly
If a member wishes to pay by standing order, they will need to set one up with their bank ensuring that their name is given as the description so the Treasurer can identify the payments received.
+ WHERE WE REHEARSE
Please contact us if you wish to join us on Monday evenings throughout the term. Rehearsals start at 7.30pm. For Term Dates please click the link on the righthand side bar. We look forward to welcoming you.**
BCS rehearses at the Marlborough Road Methodist Church on Monday evenings during term time. We rehearse in the main hall of the church. Please use the main door to the church unless otherwise directed. Rehearsals start at 7.30pm prompt. The main door will be locked at 7.45pm and access can be gained by using the door at the back of the church in the main car park area. You will need to press the black door bell on the door frame. Thank you.
Members are given a name badge so that it is easier to identify one another. We would ask that you wear this for every rehearsal. The choir is growing at such a rate that it is difficult to remember everyone's names without these name badges!
Please do not park in the church car park. You can park close by to the church in Calthorpe Street.
+ COFFEE EVENINGS
Coffee evenings take place at 7pm on the first Monday of every month during term time.
